GlenAllachie 15 is a Speyside whisky that was found in 1967 and has change ownership over the years. The distillery was closed for a few years until it was re-opened by a group of private investors.
GlenAllachie 15 is bottled at 46% abv, natural colored, and is non-chilled filtered. It is aged in Virgin Oak, PX Sherry, Oloroso sherry, and red wine casks. It is very well balanced and is a big step above the 12 year old with the extra 3 years and red wine cask finish. I would have though the combination of the casks might yield and unbalanced whisky, but this one is very nice. I enjoyed it until the last drop.
GlenAllachie other expressions that fall under these categories: Anniversary Series, Core Range, Single Casks, Virgin Oak Series, Wine Cask Series, Wood Finish Range, Macnair’s, and White Heather. Click here for the complete list – The GlenAllachie Distillery.
Priced around $100+ and I recommend this whisky.
